A five-minute morning journalling ritual
28 July 2026 · 3 min read
Journalling has a branding problem. It sounds like something that requires discipline, a leather-bound tome, and an hour before dawn. It doesn’t.
Here is the version that actually sticks: five minutes, three lines, every morning.
The three lines
One line for something you’re grateful for. One line for how you’d like to feel today. One line for the single thing that would make today good.
That’s it. If you have more to say, wonderful. If not, you’re done — and you still showed up.
Make it easy to keep
Leave the journal open on your desk, pen on top. A habit you can see is a habit you’ll keep.
Forgive the missed days. A journal with gaps is a journal that’s being used by a real person, which is rather the point.
